My dad wasn't around a lot in my life. Somehow he made an impression on me as well as those who crossed his path. He didn't dress in fancy clothes and when he spoke, 5 out of 8 words were cuss words but he managed to make his point. He didn't fit in with the majority of the population but somehow had the ability to get noticed. He spent many days and months in the mountains. My dad, only having 8th grade education, became a successful gold miner. He was brilliant yet humble. His countless stories of his adventures would capture his audience. You never felt that he was bragging though, just telling a story. I think my dad was trapped between what he was thought he was supposed to do in life and what he was meant to do.
I love my dad for being truly who he was. Amazing!
He broke his own trail in his life and left us on his own terms.
Thank you dad for being a part of who I've become.
