January 12, 1954 - February 24, 2019
Marie-Paule Thomas, 65, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2019, after a battle with cancer. She moved to Whitehorse at the age of two weeks (her mom was on holidays in Quebec), and spent all but a year of her life here. Many Yukoners will remember her from her more than 30 years at T. A. Firth Insurance.

Marie was predeceased by her parents Paul and Liane Choquette and brother Pierre. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Chris Almstrom, her son Christian Thomas, her daughter-in-law Barbara Coppard, her grandchildren Oscar and Emiko, and her brother Gaston.

The family thanks her colleagues from T.A. Firth for all of their support during her illness. We are also very grateful for the care and compassion provided by her nurses from Home Case and Dr. Danusia Kanachowski.

To those who knew her, Marie will be remembered as a soul mate and constant companion, a loving parent and grandparent, and a loyal and honest friend. She was a solid person, and utterly without pretense. Never one to seek the spotlight, Marie requested that we not have a public memorial for her. We will have an informal gathering next summer. Marie, you will always be with us.
