March 10, 1981 - November 8, 2019
Marc left this world in the warm embrace of his family and friends, surrounded by love and in the gentle echo of their chanting voices.
The eldest of three sons born to Rollande Bergevin and Roger Bergeron, Marc leaves behind his beloved partner of 20 years Isabelle Caron and their four children Clovis (11), Arielle (9), Mathis (7) and Leo (4), his mother, brothers Jean (Gabrielle) and Luc (Catherine), nephew Victor, niece Maude, extended family, friends and colleagues.
Marc started his career as an avionic technician at age 19, choosing to land in Yukon with Air North in 2002. He was widely recognized for his unequalled innovation in avionics, his engineering brilliance and his leadership in the field.
He was also a devoted father, spending as much time as possible with each of his children and making every moment count. His dedication continued to the end, as he applied his creativity to finding new ways to stay an engaged parent despite the increasing limitations he faced.
Marc handled his illness, and the pain and incapacitation it brought, with exceptional stoicism and grace. Those fortunate to have known him during this time will always remember his remarkable self-awareness, courage and wisdom.
Deep gratitude to Dr. Sally MacDonald for your amazing care through this immensely tough journey, to Amy Breckenridge for your beautiful voice and strength during Marc's final moments with us, and to everyone who has helped us through GoFundMe, meals, childcare and otherwise - your support has been invaluable.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Yukon. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
