July 15, 1960 - January 2, 2015
A creative and innovative musician, his voice and guitar stylings were truly unique and down-to-earth. From his home recording studio in Tagish, Kim produced a memorable CD of his own as well as collaborating on the production of other local musicians' work. Kim's talents were taken from us shortly after New Years Day 2015, when he suffered a massive heart attack.
Kim would have graduated from the Office Administration course at Yukon College that spring. At the college, he was a familiar figure, well-known and beloved by not only his fellow students but by a surprising cross-section of students from a wide variety of courses, as well as faculty. Always helpful and cheerful, his presence in the hallways and student residence was a constant reminder to all to look on the bright side and above all, never give up. His determination and devotion to his course work was legendary, as was his kindness and quirky humour.
As one student put it: "He was always creating something new, he was so inventive! He was a great listener and made everyone feel included. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed"
Happy (Belated) Birthday KIMBO!
