In Remembrance of ~
Kathy Boyd (born Kathleen Elizabeth Callon) passed away in her home in Abbotsford, British Columbia whe she was 78.
Kathy was a long-time Yukoner living in Tagish Lake and Whitehorse enjoying fishing, curling and spending time together on the lake.
Kathy worked with Kip at Killrich Industries where Kathy's contribution was above and beyond her role as the bookkeeper, contributing to the development of Kilrich that was started by Kip and his 3 sons in 1977.
When Kip fell ill, they decided to sell the company to focus on spending quality time together. They traveled together for many years before he passed away in May of 1997. She also ran a small bed and breakfast on Tagish Lake after Kip passed.
Without Kip by her side Kathy decided to moved back to BC living in Langley and Surrey, before finally settling in Abbotsford, BC.
For anyone who knew Kathy - they knew of her adventurous spirit and passion for travel. She left Vancouver by boat, going through the Panama Canal and on to London. She lived for a time in both London and Paris in her twenties working as an au pair which seeded her love of travel. She became a nomad - traveling the world to places such as Australia, Europe, Africa, Russia and China to name a few. She always had a friend in every city, a gift in hand, and a story to tell.
Kathy's boundless laugh and energy filled any room. She loved a good casino and famously won a red convertible sports car in her hay day.
While not travelling, her passion was her love of quilting. She made numerous quilts for charity and heirlooms for family and friends. May the comfort of the quilts she made give us something to hold onto her memory.
Celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
