February 8, 2019
With heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of our parents John Egerton and Marion Elsie Christena (Jefferson) Peacock of Navan, Ontario. They passed away on February 8 and 9, 2019 at the Ottawa General Hospital. Dad was born September 12, 1936 in Catalina, NL and Mom on April 12, 1942 in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario.

John was a commercial pilot and Marion was the chief flight attendant for several northern airlines. They turned their love of flying and the outdoors into a successful fly fishing business in the Yukon. Marion was also, the base manager for the business and the family. She opened our home and dinner table to all the young pilots that John was training and to any others that happened to drop by. John wrote a book (Sourdough Pilot) about their lives and many adventures that will stand as a legacy to hand down to the future generations.

They are survived by their daughters Cheryl (Robert) Seibt and Gayle (Gordon) Houghtby. They were proud of their grandchildren Sharalynn Seibt, John (Alexandra) Seibt, Tyler (Vanessa) Houghtby and Joel (Emma) Houghtby. Their greatest joys were their Great-grandchildren Sharalynn's son Payton and John's children Alex, Ariana and Sullivan. They are also survived by John's sister Myrtle (late George) Lang, brother Harold (Patricia) Peacock, Marion's sisters-in-law Margery (late Gerald) Jefferson and Joyce (late Wallace) Jefferson and numerous nieces and nephews.

They will be missed by many family and friends in Canada from ocean to ocean to ocean and in the Bahamas.

John was predeceased by his parents Charles Egerton and Violet Pearl (Bugden) Peacock and brother-in-law George Lang. Marion was predeceased by her parents Joseph Wallace and Elsie Barbara (Downing) Jefferson and by her brothers Wallace, Robert, Gerald, Hugh and Hugh's wife May.

The service was held at Trinity Bearbrook Anglican Church, 8785 Russel Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 10:30 am, reception followed. In lieu of fl owers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in their memory. We would like to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors at the Ottawa General Hospital who cared for Dad during his two month stay on 6 West. Also, those in the hospital that first responded and cared for Mom during her brief stay in the ICU. Your kindness and compassion towards our parents and family will be remembered always.

"Do not stand by our graves and weep, we are not there. We've gone fishing, together forever."
