It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Corky at the Wind River Palliative Care Unit with his family by his side. H
e is survived by his wife Arla, daughter Cheri (Doug), son Tyler and grandsons Karn and Devon, together with niece Kathy (Ken), nephews Edward (Karen), Ken (Heather), John (Carol) their families and many dear friends.
Corky arrived in the Yukon in 1954 and worked as a heavy duty mechanic at many different businesses over the years including the Army, Whitehorse Copper and the City of Whitehorse, where he worked for 25 years before retiring.
He also enjoyed playing guitar with several different bands over the years including the Northernairs.
Being very creative with his hands he built a catamaran boat (Krazy Kat), a house and, in later retirement years, several different pieces of furniture and other intricately designed items. He loved fishing and dropped a hook in most Yukon Lakes and fished for salmon in Haines, Alaska.
We would like to give our Thanks and Gratitude to Dr. Carew and Dr. Kmet, nurses and staff at the Whitehorse General Hospital along with the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Whistle Bend, who gave us all so much respect and support.
As per Corky's request there will be no Funeral Service.
