December 7, 1953 - November 14, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Garth Baker on November 14th, 2024. John is preceded by his parents Helen (Lynn) and Garth (Slim) Baker and his nephew Bill Baker.
John was born in Calgary but raised in Lethbridge. Growing up in Lethbridge he played baseball, football and basketball. After high school, he joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. After serving for 5 years, he went to College. After he finished college, he traveled around Canada.
He finally found a home when he went to Whitehorse, Yukon. It didn't take long before he found friends that became family. He will be greatly missed by Richard, Elaine, Sierra and Kevin Linville.
John is survived by his sisters Vera-Lynn (Frank) Smella and Jan Materi and his brother Bob (Merna) Baker. Also missing John are his niece and many nephews as well as his grand nieces and nephews.
John will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his warm smile, and the joy he brought to those who knew him.
