June 9, 1971 - July 9, 2024
Jason passed away peacefully surrounded by family in North Vancouver Hospice after a long battle with cancer. He was a strong man with a wicked sense of fun who loved his family above all. Jason fought cancer with the same positive attitude that he lived his life - he never complained, never asked "why me?" just kept fighting. He showed us what it truly means to be brave.
Jason spent his formative years in Whitehorse, Yukon and made North Vancouver, BC his home following university. He cherished his northern roots and shared many Yukon adventures with his family. Jason enjoyed his professional life immensely, gaining respect and admiration of colleagues during his nineteen years with Cisco Systems. Jason loved mountain biking, skiing, and cheering on his sons and niece and nephew in everything they undertook.
Sorely missed by his wife Melissa Zral, sons Nikolas and Cole Zral, parents Richard and Janet Zral, sister Rachelle Zral, brother-in-law Benoit Labelle, niece Bree and nephew Max Labelle, and a group of extended family and friends far too large to mention.
A private service was held in North Vancouver on July 25, 2024.
The family is grateful for the professional and compassionate care by the entire medical team and North Shore Hospice as well as the extraordinary outpouring of love from friends, family, and colleagues.
