December 30, 1942 - November 14, 2022
Jan was born in Yonkers, New York and moved to the Yukon in 1969 to marry the love of her life. She was a force of a woman who raised her daughters to be fierce, independent women. She loved quilting, playing the guitar and singing and was active in her church, St. Paul's, as well as a busy volunteer, contributing to her community in many ways.
The family lived at Thistle Creek on the Yukon River for 13 years, where Jan raised chickens, goats and geese, grew and preserved virtually everything the family ate, and hunted and fished for meat.
Jan is predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Gerry, and survived by her daughters, Mistie (Keith) and Meredith, and son, Guy (Kathy), and her grandchildren Desiree, Trace (Samantha), Jada Joe, Eve, Owen, and Tag, as well as her loving brothers, Rick (Pat), Mark (Kristine), Drew (Priscilla) and Todd (Martha) and and a great many nieces.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Dawson City.
Donations can be made in Jan's name to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
