October 3, 1946 - May 13, 2023
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that our family announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle
Jim was a well-respected resident of Whitehorse for 38 years, where he raised his family. He was a former R.C.M.P. Officer and dedicated Whitehorse Correctional Case Manager of 38 years.
Jim passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Sooke, B.C. at the age of 76, under a beautiful blue sky at 8:20 am, May 13, 2023.
Jim loved the Yukon and spent half of his life calling Whitehorse home. In 2017 due to health issues, Jim moved to B.C. to get proper care and support. Jim loved fishing, camping, being outside, and he loved the Oilers and Golden State Warriors. Jim and his wife Marina made lifelong friends in the Yukon and right up to his passing Jim longed to be back in the Yukon. His final wish was to be brought home to Whitehorse where he could be laid to rest next to his wife at Grey Mountain Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Loreen Hirsche (Ivan) of Sooke B.C., his grandson Wesley Hirsche-Smith of Whitehorse Y.T., his daughter Lizann Hirsche of Abbotsford B.C., his granddaughters Shoni-qua Fred (Michael) of Grande Prairie AB., and Bella-rain Fred (Zika) of Waterloo ON., his grandson Reyven Robberstad of Coquitlam B.C., his siblings, sister Sherry Hirsche of Fort MacLeod AB., brother Roger Hirsche (Bonnie) and nephew Shae Hirsche (Jeanette) and grand niece Kaylyn all of Sherwood Park AB., and his adopted daughters and grandchildren Sherry Kinney - Jayla, Shayna, Richard & Saphy, Kala Smith (Steve) - Cody, Caleb & Kirsten, Tina Dickson - Heather, Bohdi & Johnny and Nyla Migwans (Joe) - Jessa & Wass all of Whitehorse Y.T.
Jim is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Marina Hirsche, his son Trevor Cordell Robberstad & his nephew Shawn Mark Hirsche of Sherwood Park, AB. And his best friend of 36 years, Mervyn Bales of Whitehorse Y.T.
