June 2, 1988 - March 22, 2020
James was born in Ottawa, Ont. on June 2, 1988 and was raised in Whitehorse. He lived a happy life, filled with purpose, love, friendship and family. He passed away suddenly on March 22, 2020.
A determined individual, James was also kind, patient and generous. Throughout his life he showed thoughtfulness and care for others. His gifts were in working with children and youth, inspiring them to have confidence in themselves. He had a wonderful smile, and a big-hearted energy that made people feel good.
James was a loving son to his devoted parents, Jenny Trapnell and David Roddick, and a beloved brother to Stephen Roddick. He is also survived by his love, Jennie Ann Perrin, with whom he was planning a life together. James had many loving aunts and uncles, cousins and family friends, in Canada, Australia and the UK. He is greatly missed, too, by his gentle, loyal dog, Charles.
The family is grateful for the kind messages of condolence, flowers, and other support extended to them. In lieu of flowers, please consider volunteering with or making a donation in James' memory to local organizations that support Yukon children and youth.
We will always love and miss you, James. We know you are nearby, helping out in many unseen ways.
A Celebration of James' life will be held at a future date.
