With profound sadness, the family of Iain Eric Gibson announce his passing. Beloved son of mother Irene Gibson, and father Eric Gibson, Iain's life was cut short by a house fire at his residence in Vancouver on September 7, 2018.
Iain is also lovingly missed by his brothers Kevin and Scott, sister Kirsten and grand-aunt Helen Waller.
Iain was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 17, 1974 and emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1975. His formative years were lived in Whitehorse, Yukon. He graduated from FH Collins High School in Whitehorse in 1992 and always retained a Yukoner's love for CBC news, current affairs and Jeopardy trivia. Iain worked in a variety of occupations during his lifetime. He is remembered as a hard worker and loyal friend. No matter what was happening in his life, he always phoned his mother on her birthday.
A family Gathering of Remembrance was held earlier this month. Iain's ashes will be taken to Whitehorse and to Scotland.
Iain is now at peace.
