Gordon was born in Whitehorse, Yukon, the 3rd oldest of four children born to Jack Simpson Sr. and Maybelle "Doe" Simpson (Wing).
He spent the majority of his life in the Yukon. In his younger years Gordon loved sports of all kinds but hockey in particular where he and his brother Jack were coached by their father Jack Sr. Throughout his life he loved the outdoors and had many "adventures" hunting and fishing and camping.
Gordon's working life took him to Alaska, most of western Canada and the far north as a heavy equipment operator.
Gordon's battle with cancer ended peacefully with his son Kalsey at his side.
Gordon is survived by his 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters, many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his beloved father Jack Sr., Mother Doe, brother Jack Jr. and stepfather Bob Cameron.
A special thank you to the staff at Four Winds Hospice and Dr. Van Camp for the care and kindness they provided to Gordon.
