Douglas James Low, Sr. Tagooch in Tahltan, has passed on to The Happy Hunting Ground on Sunday, August 1st, 2021.
Douglas was born at Telegraph Creek, BC on July lst, 1929 to Mom Mabel (Williams) Low and Dad James Stevenson Low.
He was of Tahltan/Tlingit/Scottish descent; raised by his maternal grandparents (as his Mom had passed due to childbirth complications). He shared that Canada wide birthdate with 1st cousin Frances (Williams) Marion [Girl Frances]. He stayed with Uncle Mike Williams & Dora after his grandparents passed on.
He relocated to the Yukon with his Dad in the early 1940s. There he excelled at many trades during his lifetime including mechanic, welder, small business owner, rancher and trapper. He was employed in his very early years with Jacobs Industries, a White Pass hotel and lineman/mechanic with C.N.T. and then later as a Big Game Guide & Outfitter near Chapman Lake, Dempster Hwy.
Predeceased by: both parents, grandparents, daughter Nancy Jean, grandson Darrell Hayden, brothers David & Jim Jr and sister Mae.
Survived by wife Adila and children: Georgianna, Beatrice, Phyllis, Douglas Jr. and their mother: Ida (Sidney) Low-Calmegane. Sisters: Jean Ward and Rosemary Edzerza. Also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren plus many cousins, nieces and nephews in Alberta, BC and the Yukon.

Graveside Service and burial will take place at 3:00 at the Tagish Community Cemetery with a brief meal/gathering afterward.
