August 18, 1950 - October 12, 2024
Diane was born in the town of Whitehorse in the year of 1950. She lived some of her childhood there before the family relocated to BC. Later there, she met and married Raymond Young. They were soon blessed with a son. Shortly later, Diane and Raymond went their own ways.
After a few store clerk jobs, Diane opened a post office outlet in Burnaby. When she wasn't working there, she was immersed in a good book or her artwork. She enjoyed raising her son and hanging out with family and friends.
Many years later of being owner operator of the post office, the contract was over. Diane decided she needed a change. The big city no longer offered what she wanted, she longed for the North. So, she and her son packed their belongings and made the journey back home to the Yukon. Diane found work at Extra Foods then later at Big Way until she retired.
Once retired, she was free to fill her days with what she loved- her books, her artwork, her son, her dog. Then soon her days got filled with paw patrol and hot wheels when her only grandchild arrived. She looked forward to the cuddles and stories her grandson brought. Family get-togethers were all that more enjoyable and entertaining.
Diane passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home. She was a woman who will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, humour, and strength.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Lottie and Edward, and her sister Judy.
She is survived by brother Jim Healy (Patricia), sister Barb Ramey, son Corey Young (Amanda), grandson Declan Young and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A lover of animals and second chances, Diane would love that in lieu of flowers and gifts, anyone wanting to pay their respects make a donation to our wonderful Mae Bacher animal shelter in her honour.
