March 23, 1925 - September 30, 2018
It is with great sadness the family of Darrell Richard Morgan announce that he has left this earthly plane for Fiddler's Green. Darrell was born in Ladysmith BC to Jane A (nee) Simpson and Daniel J Morgan on March 23, 1925. They later welcomed his loving brother Earl in August of 1927. Darrell was raised in Ladysmith and left for service in the Royal Canadian Navy where he was stationed in Halifax in 1942. He returned to Ladysmith and married Thelma B Clements on May 7th, 1946. He and Thelma had three children Mary Jane, Susan and Dale.

Darrell worked in mining, logging, truck driving and was a mechanic in BC. He left BC for the Yukon in the late 1950's. As Darrell said, "I never looked back". He met Myrtle (nee) Crayford with whom he spent the majority of his life. He worked at Klondike Motors, was Northern Mechanical Superintendent for YCGC, bartended at "The Pit" one winter, and owned and operated Darrell's Welding. He and his wife Myrtle established Black Mike's Inn in Dawson City in the 1970's. He was a member of Dawson City's YOOP and mined on Green Gulch with Myrtle until the mid 2000's.

Darrell is predeceased by his mother Jane in 1935, daughter Susan in 1967, his father Daniel in 1972, his wife Myrtle in 2011 and his brother Earl in 2018.

He leaves to mourn, his daughter Mary Jane of Victoria BC, son Dale (Dolly) of Dawson City, grandchildren Iris, Victoria, Michelle, Clint, Nathan, Wyatt, Matthew, Michael, Lorraine, Derek, Carol, Sean, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as his beloved dogs Daisy Mae and Cuddles.

The family thanks Dr. Stuart, Dr. Schenke and the staff at WGH, Thompson Center and VGH for their care of Darrell over the years.

There will be no service at Darrell's request. His ashes will be spread at his favourite place in the Yukon in the summer of 2019.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Kidney Foundation or your local animal shelter.

His family wishes him God's speed in his next journey.
