Darrell Joseph McDonald

€December 19, 1943 - September 25, 2017

Darrell Joseph McDonald passed away peacefully at the Okanagan Hospice House with his loved ones by his side on September 25, 2017 at the age of 73.

Darrell was born on December 19, 1943 in Springhill Nova Scotia. In 1954 he and his family moved to White Horse, Yukon where he went to school and worked as an electrician at New Imperial mines. Darrell went on to work at White Pass & Yukon Route and earned his Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification in 1979.

Darrell then moved to Kamloops BC where he worked at Afton and Lornex mines. Here is where he met and married his loving wife Marilyn of 36 years on August 10,1981. They had a wonderful and prosperous life together renovating and flipping homes while living in Pritchard, Princeton & Greenwood and finally retiring in Westbank BC.

He was predeceased by his Parents; Joseph Henri McDonald and Ethel Leona McDonald.

Darrell will be missed by his wife: Marilyn McDonald and his children; Ian McDonald of Maple Ridge, BC, Joseph (Janice) McDonald of Kelowna BC, Corrina McDonald of Surrey BC, Paula Holm of Port Coquitlam, BC and Coralee (John) Debryn (John) of Saskatoon. SK, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, his sisters; Shirley (Chris) Turton of Kelowna BC and Joylynn (Brad) Gatrell of Calgary, AB, his brother-Tim (Alma) McDonald of Ft. Smith, NWT, as well as 7 Nieces & 3 Nephews

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 11 am -1 pm at the Prestige Beach House Hotel located at 1675 Abbott St, Kelowna, BC.
