Passed peacefully away after a long illness in Whitehorse, Yukon. Father of Monique (deceased) and Cindy, brother of Claire, Eileen (deceased), Lorna (deceased), Graham (deceased), Enid, John, Phyllis and Joan.
He was born in Winterton, Newfoundland, the youngest son of Gladys and Clarence. After leaving the army he worked for CN and moved to Ontario, where he met his wife of 47 years, Julie. He returned with his family to Newfoundland where he worked at Green Seafoods for 20 years. He and Julie visited the Yukon in 2003 and fell in love with the people and place, becoming permanent residents in 2007. Clarence will be remembered for his kind and generous soul, his love of the outdoors and good conversation.
Thank you to the staff at Copper Ridge Place for their compassionate care. There will be a service in his memory at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Whitehorse on Wednesday, Oct 3. A Celebration of Life will be held at Copper Ridge Place at a later date. His ashes will be taken to Newfoundland and laid to rest with his parents next summer.
