February 25, 1960 - March 1, 2019
Brian Allen Lueck, born February 25th, 1960 in Flin Flon, Manitoba passed suddenly from a heart attack on March 1, 2019 in Manila, Philippines. He was 59 years old.

Brian was a loving and much-loved husband, father, grand-father, friend and colleague. He is survived by his wife Racquel (Jenny) Lueck, his parents Allen and Nola Lueck, his 2 sisters Johanne Koser and Tracey Dahle his 8 children Julia Lueck; Emily Lueck;

Heather Lueck, David Lueck, Karl Lueck, Brian Lueck, Bensen Lueck and Jasmine Lueck and 6 grand-children Leah Hooper, Kyson Hooper, Julian Lueck (JJ), Thayne Hooper, Nola Helmer and Luke Helmer.

Brian grew up in Whitehorse, Yukon and graduated from F.H. Collins Highschool in 1978. Despite fully enjoying his social life he excelled in school and graduated with many opportunities including scholarship offers in Fine Arts and Sciences.

Those who knew Brian knew that he lived life to the absolute fullest and knew from his countless tales that he had a rich history as a global explorer and geologist. Brian's passion for geology started at a young age and took him through to his graduation from the University of British Columbia in 1985. Brian received a Bachelor of Science & Geology (honors) from UBC in 1985. He also completed 3 years of post-graduate studies there with the Mineral Deposits Research Unit and is the author of several papers on Alkaline Porphyry Systems. He was a practicing member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia and a Member of the Society of Economic Geologists.

As well as being at the top of his class academically throughout his entire life, Brian was also an exceptional artist. He painted countless canvases, sketched portraits & landscapes, & hand-carved ivory jewelry and soap stone figures. Brian started his family and his career in the Yukon, moving on to Vancouver and eventually relocating to Manila in 1999. Brian will be remembered as a unique and talented individual by family and friends around the globe.

There will be a celebration of life at the family home in Manila on March 9th, 2019 at 2 pm. All family and friends wishing to attend are welcome.
