It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bert (Albert) Albisser. He passed away peacefully at the Whistle Bend Place care facility following a lengthy illness. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff at Whistle Bend Place for the thoughtful and attentive care that Bert received during his time there.
Bert and his family moved to the Yukon in 1978 and immediately put down roots. He started his own company Aquatech and over the next 35 years ran a successful operation that took him all over the territory. He was proud to be a long-standing member of the Yukon community. He loved the country and enjoyed boating, hunting, and fishing in his spare time. He also built and flew a small ultralight aircraft for several years. His pride and joy was his beautiful home on Lake Labarge. He loved being a northerner and will be fondly remembered for his tireless work ethic and exuberant spirit.
Bert leaves to mourn his son David Albisser (Shannon) from Whitehorse, and daughter Tracie Albisser (Brian) from Prince George, along with 6 grandchildren Miasha, Anisa, twins Asher & Aleah, Tyler and Kara. In addition, he leaves behind his sister Ida (Ron) in Kelowna, brothers Fritz (Gail) in Dryden, Willie (Ruth) in 100 Mile House and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his Father Hans 1983, his Mother Ida 2008 and his brother Hans 2018.
As per his wishes Bert has been cremated and a cerebration of life will be held at a later date.
