The Western Hockey League champion Medicine Hat Tigers, featuring Yukoner Gavin McKenna, have advanced to the 2025 Memorial Cup final after beating out the Ontario Hockey League Champion London Knights 3-1 on the evening of May 27.

Tigers’ head coach Willie Desjardins said after the game that his team got outplayed by the Knights with a quick start to put their opponents up 1-0. That was before the Tigers scored three unanswered goals.

The final round-robin win earned the Tigers a spot in the Memorial Cup final on June 1 at 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.

The Rimouski Oceanic take on the Moncton Wildcats on May 28. The Knights will take on the winner of that game to see who proceeds to compete against the Tigers in the championship game.
