Yukon youth rock on, duet with Sierra Noble at Blue Feather Music Festival

Local festival at Yukon Arts Centre had "the art of letting go" as its theme

At the 2024 Blue Feather Music Festival, local and visiting performers rocked on while also taking time to mark the lives of some pillars of the community who have died in recent months.

Sierra Noble of Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg played a tribute on opening night as part of the theme “the art of letting go” inside the Yukon Arts Centre on Nov. 8.

Fiddler Juniper Midler of Whitehorse joined Noble to perform a duet on stage at one point during their performance.

Noble told the crowd that Whitehorse is their second favourite place next to their hometown.

Noble has opened for Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi and Johnny Reid and performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Vancouver.

Festival founder Gary Bailie produced and helped run the festival.

Fifteen-year-old Will Pacaud of Whitehorse announced to the audience during his show, alongside Gabor Nagy on drums and Roxx Hunter on bass, that his guitar came from Bailie.

The festival started Nov. 8 and runs a second night on Nov. 9.
