Don’t bother calling Northwestel to report problems with your internet, you’ll only hear a recording.
“We are currently experiencing intermittent network outages throughout all areas.
“Please do not change any settings on your network or your computer.”
“We have a problem with a router down in Edmonton,” said Northwestel spokesperson Anne Kennedy.
“It started having intermittent problems during the night and now it’s completely down.”
The router controls all internet traffic to the south, so if you’re trying to connect to any server based in southern Canada you’re not likely to get through.
Northwestel doesn’t have the exact times when its internet connection started having problems or when it went down completely.
“We’ve been aware of it and have been working with Bell who has technicians working on it down in Edmonton,” said Kennedy.
It is not known when the Yukon’s internet connection will be up and running again.
