wood galore

I've never seen a wood pile this large before. What was the wood used for? To burn, or to use for mining in some way? Also, where was this located? Maybe it was on a Klondike creek or some silver camp in the Keno, Mayo area.

This photograph was taken by A.K. Schellinger, who was associated with mining, particularly in the Mayo-Keno area.
