Woman assaulted on Lewes Boulevard

Police are investigating an attempted sexual assault that took place early Sunday morning. The 17-year-old woman was attacked around 2 a.m.

Police are investigating an attempted sexual assault that took place early Sunday morning.

The 17-year-old woman was attacked around 2 a.m. while walking home along Lewes Boulevard near the FH Collins High School.

The attacker choked the woman and dragged her towards the school’s soccer field where he attempted to sexually assault her.

Fortunately, several people were walking by at the time and the man fled.

Police were notified by the witnesses and patrolled the area but couldn’t find the suspect.

The woman was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Police are looking for an adult male in his late 20s or early 30s.

The man had a dark complexion, a medium build and some facial hair.

At the time of the assault, he was dressed in a black hoodie sweatshirt and blue jeans.
