Whitehorse RCMP seek public assistance in vehicle-pedestrian collision

Whitehorse RCMP is asking for public assistance in its investigation into a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in downtown Whitehorse on Feb. 13.

The collision occurred on Second Avenue near Ogilvie Street at 9:10 a.m. and police are asking any witnesses to come forward. They are also looking to speak with anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident.

According to an RCMP press release, the collision scene was attended by police, Yukon Emergency Medical Services, Whitehorse Fire and Whitehorse Bylaw Services. Second Avenue was closed for a period due to the collision.

The pedestrian was injured in the incident and transported to the hospital for assessment and treatment. Their identity and further details about their injuries are not being released.

The press release also notes that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
