Two Whitehorse men have been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and manufacturing a firearm after police searched a residence in Northland Mobile Home Park.

Police seized a number of weapons, including five assault weapons, two handguns and numerous firearm parts on July 20.

The men, aged 39 and 41, are scheduled for a second appearance in territorial court on Thursday. The two men remain in custody and the police are still investigating.
