I received an interesting letter from Scully’s sister, who says he’s still alive and kicking, which is good to hear.

I just received a copy of your Colourful Five Per Cent Scrapbook from October 20th.
Yes, Scully is still alive, healthy and kicking. He now lives in a cabin beside me—his sister Freda—and brother-in-Slaw George in Prince George, BC.
Scully turned 87 last June. He is still turning out burl bowls, canes, walking sticks, tables and whatever strikes his fancy.
Scully and George work together in a shop in the yard next door to our homes.
Scully left Mile 1118 last July as the village closed down. He was there for almost 30 years. It was a special place.
He met so many nice people.
Postscript: I’m a lucky sister to have him so close.
