Rodden's voice to echo In the Hills

Remy Rodden will release In the Hills: A Celebration of Northern Songs on Thursday.

The 11-song CD is a departure from the family friendly tunes he’s known for. This time, he’s written songs for adults focused on his personal adventures in the Yukon.

That said, In the Hills is a folk album with its roots firmly planted in the environmental themes he’s cultivated so often in the past. Rodden, it should be noted, is an educator with Environment Yukon.

“There’s something for everyone in this CD,” said Rodden in a release. “I’m already getting wonderful feedback from the folks who have heard it.”

At the launch, Rodden will be joined by Dave Haddock (who produced the album), Andrea McColeman, Lonnie Powell and even Jordy Walker, a guitar master.

The party is being held at the Centre de la francophonie in Whitehorse at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors. (Richard Mostyn)
