Police are asking for the public’s help tracking down two suspects who tried to rob a Whitehorse motel and sprayed two people with bear spray.

Last Tuesday at around 5:45 p.m., Whitehorse RCMP were called to a report of an attempted robbery at a room at the Stratford Motel.

“It was reported that the two suspects, a male and a female, forced their way into the unit, where a struggle then ensued with the occupant,” police said in a press release.

“Hearing the commotion, a neighbour intervened. Both the occupant of the unit and the neighbour were sprayed with bear spray in the struggle.”

The suspects fled before police got there.

The first suspect is described as a woman between 25 and 30 years old, around five foot six inches tall, with dark red hair.

The second suspect is described as a man in his thirties, approximately five foot six inches tall, with short, possibly blonde, hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 867-667-5555.
