The Whitehorse RCMP is seeking the public’s help as it investigates the Sunday night assault of an Alberta man.

The 29 year-old was spotted by a driver along the Alaska Highway north of Crestview around 7 p.m. last night. He was taken to hospital and treated for unspecified injuries before being released the same evening.

“At this time we’re still looking for public input on if anyone saw anything that occurred on the highway that afternoon,” said Constable Dean Hoogland of the Whitehorse detachment. He confirmed that the man is a visitor to Whitehorse but was unsure what brought him to town.

The RCMP does not believe that the assault was random. “The public is not in any danger,” Hoogland said.

“If anyone knows anything about this, give us a call. 667-5551.”
