Sunday, July 13 — Chūgen is celebrated by Japanese Shinto Buddhists in Japan as a time for offering gifts to ancestral spirits but now sees gifts given more to one’s superiors and friends.

Friday, July 18 — Asala Puja or Dharma Day marks the Buddhist observance of the day when Gautama Buddha first publicly proclaimed the eight-fold path and the four noble truths.

Friday, July 18 — Guru Purnima marks the day for Hindus when Krishna-dwaipayana Vyasa was born and remembers with special reverence all spiritual Gurus, their lives and their teachings.
