Motorcyclist dies in Alaska Highway crash

Thirty-four year-old Dylan Lavoie died Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on the Alaska Highway.

Thirty-four year-old Dylan Lavoie died Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on the Alaska Highway.

Lavoie was a Whitehorse resident. The Yukon coroner’s office confirmed the victim’s identity to the News.

Alongside emergency services, RCMP responded shortly after 4:30 p.m., to the single vehicle collision at the Yukon River bridge near Marsh Lake.

Lavoie was pronounced dead at the scene.

The RCMP wouldn’t detail the circumstances of the crash, saying only they had to wait for the collision analyst report.

It is not known whether speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor in this accident.

Whitehorse RCMP is asking that anybody with information or who may have been a witness to the accident to call them at 867-667-5555.
