Yukon RCMP have laid additional charges against a man arrested and charged following a drug and weapons bust on July 9. These new charges include possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking and possession of brass knuckles, a prohibited weapon. He was previously charged for possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunition and possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order.
“The police are better equipped to deal with the supply side of the trade, which can be quite dangerous,” said Cpl. Calista Macleod in a release. “But the public is in the best position to reduce demand by influencing and helping the users, who create the market.”
The July 9 seizure followed a months-long investigation.
