A Whitehorse man is in serious but stable condition after a shooting on Sunday morning.

At around 3:00 a.m. on March 31, Whitehorse RCMP were called to a home in Granger after a complaint of what was believed to be a gunshot. When police arrived, they found an injured man. The 49-year-old was transported to the Whitehorse General Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition, a police press release says. No further information on his injuries was provided.

Police are continuing to investigate. But they are “confident this was not a random act of violence,” the release says.

The police could not be reached for further comment before the News’ Monday deadline.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the Whitehorse detachment at 667-5555.
