The Yukon Coroner's Service said one man was found dead on the scene of a house fire in Mary Lake on Oct. 4.
The press release sent out by the service said RCMP and the fire department were dispatched to the house in the Mary Lake subdivision on the evening of Oct. 4, at 9:05 p.m.
The house was "extensively damaged by fire," said the release. The release said the man was located inside the house. The man's identity is yet to be confirmed, said the release.
According to the release, the RCMP forensic identification section and an RCMP fire investigator are investigating the cause of the fire with the Whitehorse Fire Department prevention and investigation branch. The coroner's office is working alongside the two agencies, according to the release.
