A man is dead after a fire destroyed a home near Stewart Crossing.
On Nov. 9, the building was found destroyed by fire. It is unclear when the fire started, said Cpl. Brent Chapman with the Mayo RCMP. The single resident and owner of the home, a 68-year-old man, was last seen on Nov. 7, the RCMP said in a release.
His remains were found at the scene.
The man has not been identified. The investigation into the cause of his death is ongoing, said chief coroner Kirsten MacDonald. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
