Whitehorse RCMP have charged Christopher Schafer with multiple offences, including breaking and entering in three downtown Whitehorse businesses.
On Feb. 3, Whitehorse RCMP arrested Schafer and charged him with the possession of stolen property over $5,000 when he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle. He was held in custody for court that day, reads the release, and then was released from custody.
Between Feb. 4 and Feb. 6, the Whitehorse RCMP responded to four separate calls involving the uttering threats, breaking and entering, and mischief under $5,000. Police collected evidence from the crime scenes of these incidents and identified a suspect.
On Feb. 8, the police arrested Schafer again. He appeared in court on Feb. 12, and has been remanded until Feb. 26.
Schafer faces several charges, including the possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, three counts of possession of break-in instruments with intent to be used, the possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm, five counts of failing to comply with a probation order, three counts of disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, three counts of break and enter to business, and mischief under $5,000.
RCMP are asking potential witnesses or those with information to contact the police.
