A man broke into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints early Monday morning.
Police arrested a 22-year-old Whitehorse man inside the church following a brief struggle, shortly after 4:30 a.m.
The man entered the church through a broken window, say police. They found no other damage inside.
Police credit a resident who lives near the church on Wickstrom Road for promptly reporting a sighting of a suspicious man near the church.
Police believe the man had been drinking.
His name has not been released because he has not yet been charged. He is to appear in court next December 17.
