John Wipert, 60, was living alone at the remote wilderness lodge and caring for the horses.

The lodge is south of Tok, near the Yukon border.

The Beaver Creek RCMP have partnered with Alaska State Troopers to search for Wipert.

Ground and air searches have taken place on both sides of the border and the state troopers have employed tracking dogs at Ptarmigan Lake Lodge.

On July 8, the RCMP Twin Otter patrolled the western Yukon border, but Wipert and the horses have not been located.

Wipert is Caucasian with grey hair and blue eyes. He weighs 190 pounds and is 5 feet, 8 inches tall.

Anyone who has knowledge of someone matching Wipert’s description, or has seen a man with two horses, or two abandoned horses, is asked to contact the Beaver Creek RCMP at 862-2677 or the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 883-5111. (Genesee Keevil)
