Joe MacGillivray will become deputy minister of the Executive Council Office this summer.
MacGillivray is presently CEO of the Yukon Hospital Corporation. He’s held that job since the fall of 2007.
Before that he served in several senior jobs within government, including as an assistant deputy minister of Energy, Mines and Resources.
“He is a long-time Yukoner who has earned the respect of the community,” Premier Darrell Pasloski said in a release. “His extensive experience, knowledge and skills will serve him well in this high-profile position.”
As head of the executive council, he will replace Janet Moody, who retires this summer. She’s held the job since 2004 and has worked within the Yukon government for more than 25 years.
“Ms. Moodie has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to excellence throughout her career,” Pasloski said. “We wish her the very best in her retirement.”
