The spring sitting of the Yukon legislature starts March 25, Premier Dennis Fentie announced Thursday.
Fentie vowed in a release to deliver a “stay-the-course” budget for the next fiscal year. That means the good times should continue to roll for Yukon’s construction contractors, as the territory continues its spending splurge on infrastructure work.
The budget would also “build on the social side of the ledger” through ongoing spending on social programs, Fentie said.
“We’ve been tabling strategic budgets for a number of years and this will be the eighth-consecutive surplus.”
The public is invited to attend the opening of the spring sitting, which starts at 1 p.m.
