Be warned, an unlicensed home security company is going door-to-door offering to install burglar alarm systems.

The Yukon government is advising the public to check the credentials of anyone offering to install a burglar alarm.

Just ask for their Burglar Alarm Identification Card.

Companies, or individuals doing that kind of work must be licensed under the Private Investigators and Security Guard Act.

If they are, they’ll have a card.

Anyone with concerns can also call consumer services at 667-5111 to find out if the company is licensed.
