Yukon campfires are legal again – if you can get one started.
Light rain and cloud were reported across much of the Yukon over the weekend, bringing down the forest fire risk.
Of course, wildland fire officials still urge caution.
“You just have to hope that the public will continue to follow the message of ‘Burn cautiously and make sure your fire’s out,’” said fire information officer George Maratos.
Permits are still required for the burning of brush and debris.
“Permits will be suspended if the fire danger rating is moderate or higher,” read an official Wildland Fire Management release. (Tristin Hopper)
