Christine Herlihy, a staff member of Maryhouse, who has served the poor and needy here in Whitehorse the past eight years, is being transferred back to Madonna House (the mother house) in Combermere, Ontario, and will be leaving November 30th.
Christine was in charge of their emergency food program before the food bank opened and has always been a listening presence to anyone who came to the house and needed a listening ear.
Many people also stop by just to share a cup of tea and there is always a lot of laughter around the kitchen table.
Personally, my relationship with Christine has grown these past eight years and I am proud and blessed to call her my friend. Christine, you will be missed by so many and your presence here has been invaluable.
