Arsenault is a local entrepreneur who most recently served as general manager for the Dakwakada Development Corp., the business arm of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations.

The Whitehorse-based firm has investments in construction, manufacturing, retail and communications sectors.

“Mr. Arsenault brings a significant amount of experience to the position,” said Premier Darrell Pasloski in a press release. “His career shows his skill and success in business development and strategic management. We are pleased that Yukoners will benefit from his knowledge and background when he takes on his new role as a leader in the Yukon government.”

Harvey Brooks, the former deputy minister, moved to the Department of Community Services during a major shuffle of deputy ministers in 2012.
