Thieves stole Styrofoam insulation, metal siding and metal flashing from the Faro Seniors’ Complex, which was undergoing renovations this week.

More than $5,000 worth of material was stolen on Monday, according to Witzel Construction Limited, the contractor working at the complex.

On Tuesday, RCMP received information the material was spotted at two residences in Faro and were issued a search warrant for both locations.

Police retrieved a significant amount of the stolen material and arrested a 56-year-old man in connection with the thefts. His name has not been released because he hasn’t yet appeared in court.

The investigation is continuing and other people are suspected of participating in the crime, said RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Don Rogers.
