Next month the city will start its annual Food for Fines promotion.
Between Dec. 3 and Dec. 10, drivers who get tickets at parking meters in Whitehorse will be able to pay their fines with non-perishable goods instead of cash, as long as the value of the food is equal to or greater than the amount on the ticket.
The food that’s collected is given to the food bank and Kaushee’s Place.
