City launches survey

The city of Whitehorse wants to know what residents think of proposed ATV regulations.

The city of Whitehorse wants to know what residents think of proposed ATV regulations.

An online survey, launched last week, asks respondents to offer their views on everything from a helmet law to restricting the vehicles from environmentally sensitive areas.

The survey also asks whether riders should require a special permit to operate an ATV. A similar scheme is being floated in the city’s proposed snowmobile bylaw.

Residents have until January 10 to offer feedback. A task force struck to examine the issue will complete its work by February, with a proposed bylaw brought forward to council in May or June.
